Tao Nyeu
Tao Nyeu was born in Akron, Ohio and grew up in Niskayuna, New York, a town whose name means “Flowing Fields of Corn.” She earned a BFA from Cornell University and moved to New York City to live life as a graphic designer. As it turns out, drawing is more fun so she waved goodbye to the design world to attend the School of Visual Arts’ MFA Illustration program. A recent graduate in 2007 with a special interest in silkscreening and etching, she is diving into the world of childrens’ books illustration. Her first book, Wonder Bear, published by Dial Books for Young Readers, is the recipient of the Society of Illustrators 2008 Founder’s Award. She is currently working on her second book, Bunny Days, to be released by Dial in the Fall of 2009. Her work can be seen at www.tao-illustration.com.
